Does the Bible say anything about illegal drugs?

You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.1 Corinthians 10:31So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.The Bible doesn’t specifically mention the kind of drug addiction common today, but it does address the ever-present problem of putting things into our bodies that are harmful and that impair our ability to function. Taking drugs to get a “high” is an artificial feeling of happiness that is a cheap substitute for the true joy that comes when you are filled and controlled by the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit controls your life, your joy is authentic and contagious.

Some say that everything in moderation is okay. Can’t that apply to drugs, too?

2 Peter 2:19They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.Whatever has control over you is your master. If God is your master, he will raise you up and encourage you, but an addictive drug will only tear you down and make you a slave to its power. Some things are not good for you, even in moderation. Even a little sin is deadly.
