About Us

Learn about the people behind Tecarta

Based in Palo Alto, California, we are a close team of developers and designers who love reading the Bible and building Bible apps.

Mike and Ming moved to Silicon Valley after college to work in technology. They eventually started a company called Tecarta, Inc. to help entrepreneurs and companies with great ideas build amazing web and mobile apps.

During this time, we wanted a Bible app that could take notes, easily flip between the Bible and notes and keep up with the sermon at church. We couldn’t find one, so we decided to build a Bible app for ourselves. In 2009, Tecarta released its first Bible app, Tecarta Bible, for iOS.

Since then, we have over 2 million users and partner with every major Christian publisher to provide our users with the best Bible translations, Study Bibles, Devotionals and Commentaries along with everything else you need for your walk with God. Every day we love thinking about and finding new ways to help people get the most out of their Bibles.

Recently (June 2023), we changed the name of our flagship product from Tecarta Bible to Life Bible.
