Willing To Go

Willing To Go

I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Isaiah 6:8

When God wants to send you somewhere, He does not ask, Are you capable? He simply asks, Are you willing? That’s a profound difference, and it takes a profound amount of pressure off you and your abilities. God can do wonders with willingness.

Maybe you have seen an ad about the plight of starving children in Africa. Or read about people trafficked around the world. It may be natural to wonder, What difference could I possibly make?

Focusing on our capabilities can stop a good work before we even start. And how ironic that we often pray for God to use us for His purposes—and then when He answers our prayer, we respond with a list of all our inadequacies. He knows about all our inadequacies and calls us anyway.

Reconsider what God is asking you to do. Are you willing? Isn’t He powerful enough to fill in the gaps where your capabilities end and His limitless abilities begin? When you feel called, respond with willingness, and He will get you to your destiny.

I yield my heart to You, Lord. I want to do what You have called me to do, trusting You to make me capable when I say yes.
