Mighty And Magnificent

These are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him!

Job 26:14

Expansive. Heart-stopping. Limitless. These words and more could be used to describe the night sky, sprinkled with endless stars. As we stand beneath it, like tiny specks, it’s easy to agree that the God we serve is mighty and magnificent. He created this world; He sustains this world; He redeems this world—and He has created you to play a unique part in His redemption story.

Our big God is not aloof or distant; He is ever-present, loving, compassionate, and longing to be in an intimate relationship with you. Furthermore, He has the infinite ability to solve any problem, to heal any memory, to reconcile any relationship, to forgive any sin, to stretch any budget, to feed every mouth, to clothe every body, to free any captive, to break any habit, and to cure any disease. If you truly believe that God has the power to create and sustain the universe, then absolutely nothing in your life is beyond His power to mend, heal, or restore.

You really can live a wide-open, expansive life that reflects His might and magnificence, His mercy and love. Tonight, go look outside at the night sky, the outer fringe of His works, and be encouraged: nothing is impossible for our Creator God!

I find such comfort, God, in Your might and Your magnificence around me, in me, through me, and beyond me. Nothing is impossible!
