What Faith Can Do

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.”

Matthew 17:20

God said, “Go,” and Moses and the Israelites—and Abraham before them—went. And how did they go? The Bible tells us, “by faith” (Hebrews 11:27). By faith, they arrived at their promised land, and by faith you will too.

For the Israelites, setting out on their journey made no sense. Leaving everything they had, leaving the safe and familiar for the unknown, wasn’t rational. But the life of faith requires venturing out into the unknown and expecting the unexpected, the unpredictable, the awe-inspiring, and even the outrageous.

Faith is your turning point when you’re in doubt, when you’re in want, when life is difficult, and when the path ahead is unclear. We can’t touch or see or smell or hold faith, but it is real—and it is powerful. Faith can shut the mouths of lions, quench the flames of fire, escape the edge of the sword, raise the dead, end torture, and release the imprisoned!

And your faith can take you right to where God wants you. After all, God is able to make a way where there is no way. Have faith in His perfect plans for you! That’s how you keep developing unshakeable faith!

Thank You, God, that Your “Go!” means adventure and expectation of Your good plans coming to pass. May I go with confidence in both Your trustworthiness and Your presence with me.
