Walking By Faith

Walking By Faith

Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

Is there a gap between what you are doing and what you want to be doing? Then that’s a gap for the God of the impossible to step in. Do you feel nervousness about doing what you feel called to do? That nervousness is space where the Holy Spirit wants to step in. Welcoming God to interrupt, step in, and fill those spaces is walking by faith.

When we walk by faith, we choose not to trust in our human planning or solely rely on our God-given abilities. We don’t factor God out of the equation of our lives. We don’t try to fill up the gaps ourselves by controlling every aspect of our lives so much that there is no room for God to interrupt and disturb our plans for His good purposes. Think about it: if your goals are achievable without God, are they even from God?

Our faith is what pleases God. Not our capability or ability to plan, wrangle, and do it on our own. Yes, diligence is important, but so is allowing God to interrupt our plans and move us past the gaps in fulfilling our calling. So seek Him, and watch Him reward your faith.

Lord, build in me a faith that pleases You. I welcome You to step in and change things to go Your way!
