Crumbling Walls
Crumbling Walls
The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.
Job 1:21
We all have walls to overcome—those seemingly impenetrable forces standing between us and our freedom. They can be walls representing sin, such as unforgiveness, or a circumstance in our lives we have to emotionally and physically overcome—like being a single mom, or suffering a great financial loss, or losing a job.
I know many courageous people who have faced high and thick walls blocking their way in life, and who watched those walls come down. Despite their pain, often dire circumstances, legitimate concerns, and pressing needs—they chose to pursue God and trust Him when He told them what to do. And that made all the difference.
It is never easy, but courageous people choose to put their faith in what they know about God—about His trustworthy nature—instead of what they don’t know about their future. They bravely choose to run to God, not away from Him, even when everything inside of them wants to pull back and protect themselves.
Be courageous. Pursue and trust God. Believe in His Word. Believe His promises to you. Believe in His power to destroy any walls in front of you.
Lord, You know the pain, circumstances, concerns, and needs that make up my walls. Thank You that today, those walls come down!
