Transformed And Renewed

We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:18

As God transforms us from the inside out, He gives us the amazing gift of renewing our minds. In that process, some things we always thought were true are suddenly revealed to be completely different than we thought they were. Where we might have had a harsh viewpoint, suddenly we develop a more loving perspective. Here are some amazing transformations He’s shown me:

• The goal of Christian faith is not to earn God’s favor. The goal is to become more like Christ—and receive all He has for me.

• I become more like Jesus not by doing good works. I am transformed by Christ at work in me, and He works through me to touch the world.

• Christian community is not where I go to be assigned more works to do. Christian community is where transformation happens. It’s where discipleship happens and I grow into a more mature believer.

How freeing to know that a life in Christ is powered not by us but by Him. It’s full of hope, not chores, tasks, and assignments.

So keep reading His Word and listening to His Word. And let it transform your suppositions into freeing truth.
