Treasured Promises
Treasured Promises
Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.
Psalm 17:8
To be the apple of someone’s eye is to feel fully confident in that person’s love and devotion for you. That’s how God feels about you—but it may be something hard to grasp.
To transition from not being sure of His devotion to living overjoyed in His love is a process—but one that is well worth the time and energy.
Here are some steps in the process of transformation that can help you:
• Immerse yourself in God’s Word: make time every day to read Scripture. Memorize verses about God’s love for you. Meditate on those words. You will find life in them.
• Pray His Word. For example, you could pray Psalm 17:8: “Father, I’m so grateful that I’m the apple of Your eye. You hide me and protect me in the shadow of Your wings.”
• Learn God’s promises—and personalize them. Trust God that He will keep them.
Truth that you internalize from God’s Word will build your confidence in His love for you and help you develop unshakeable faith you can stand on when life’s inevitable storms strike. God’s promises can become a lifeline for you to hold on to. And His faithfulness to you and His presence with you will be like a life raft that protects you from being overwhelmed by crashing waves.
I am the apple of Your eye. Thank You for loving me and transforming me through Your Word.
