He Who Promised Is Faithful
He Who Promised Is Faithful
By faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.
Hebrews 11:11
God will often wait until a situation is impossible before He works a miracle. I’m guessing that, like me, you look at your circumstances—at your bank accounts, your education, your physical body, your gifts, your connections—and decide a promise cannot be fulfilled because it is not naturally possible. But your infinite God can go way beyond the finite options you can imagine!
If God has said He will do something, then He will be faithful to perform it whatever your natural circumstances. Sarah was already “past childbearing age” when she conceived Isaac. It was biologically impossible for a woman over ninety to have a child. Only when Sarah came to the place of yielding the situation to God, choosing to trust He would be faithful, did the miracle occur.
Just because you cannot do something doesn’t mean God cannot. After all, when something is no longer possible and God turns up, then only He can get the glory. Don’t let impossibility quench your faith. Instead, allow it to fuel your faith! Look beyond your circumstances to your completely loving, faithful, and powerful God. He who promised is faithful.
Lord, please show me how to look beyond my circumstances to You, for whom nothing is impossible! How exciting to live in anticipation of what You are about to do!
