Spiritual Forces

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 6:12

Knowing that you have an Enemy is one thing; finding yourself face-to-face with that Enemy is another. Whether you feel it or not, you are in a spiritual battle. Yes, you are ultimately “more than conquerors,” but there is still a fight to be fought on a daily basis (Romans 8:37).

Prepare yourself with this knowledge: the Enemy does not want you to walk with the Lord, trust Him for what’s ahead, or love people with His love. That’s why when you say yes to God, you may go from running with the wind to running against the wind.

Trials and storms come. Obstacles rise up. Challenges multiply. And the Enemy comes at you hard. Why? Because he wants your spiritual life to grow stagnant and your influence in this world to diminish. Yet if you fight and draw on God’s power, you can have an unbelievable impact on eternity! Yes, you must fight, but you don’t battle alone. Lean on God in prayer, community, and His Word. “Do not be afraid or discouraged. . . . For the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15).

Thank You, Lord, that You arm me for battle and You enter the battle with me. Thank You that, ultimately, the victory is Yours!
