Promises Kept

Promises Kept

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:23

God is faithful to keep His promises.

God gave Abraham and Sarah the son He had promised (Genesis 21). God led His people out of Egypt and into the promised land just as He said He would (Exodus 14). And God sent His Son, our Messiah, as the perfect sacrifice for our sins (Genesis 3:15). The list of promises fulfilled can go on and on.

Think now about the promises God has spoken to you. And all the times He kept His word. When, for instance, have you seen Him bring beauty out of ashes in your life? Or sensed His love in a dark time? When have you been quiet before the Lord and been reminded that He is God, that He is good, sovereign, loving, and wise? And when have you found His grace sufficient for you in challenging seasons with your friends or loved ones?

Whatever God has promised you—that word you hold dear and pray over frequently—He will be faithful to you.

Lord, You have always graciously kept Your promises to Your people. May I always remember Your great faithfulness to me in matters both big and small.
