Make Friends With Your Future
Make Friends With Your Future
Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.
Proverbs 16:3 ESV
Perhaps you’re looking forward to your future with excitement! Perhaps you’re nervous, scared, or avoidant. Either way, I want to encourage you to make a conscious choice that will help you on your faith walk: make friends with your future.
How do you begin making friends with your future? By making sure your relationship with the past is healthy first. It wasn’t until I was willing to sever myself from wrong thinking, wrong beliefs, and past hurts that I could truly believe that God had great things waiting for me in my future—“an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade” (1 Peter 1:4). Nothing, and I mean nothing, has to keep us out of God’s great future that He has planned for us.
So if there are lingering effects of your past holding you back from your future, go to God. Let Him walk you through that healing process. Let Him help you forgive, let go, and move forward. Then make friends with your future. I believe the best is headed your way!
Lord, I’m grateful You have Your eye on my future. I look forward to fulfilling my purpose and all the good plans You have for me!
