Faithful In The Little Things

Faithful In The Little Things

He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.

Luke 1:52

Sometimes our Christian walk is not very glamorous—especially if we’re in that season of being faithful with the little that’s in our hands while we’re waiting for the next season in life to come (Luke 16:10). During that time, it’s easy to wonder, Where’s the victory? Where are all the wins?

But never despise small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10). The way toward my dreams of speaking for God began with a lot of work at a youth center in Australia that wasn’t very glamorous. I remember painting walls at 2 a.m., cleaning toilets, handling administrative tasks, and even writing funding proposals so we could keep the doors open. But during my six years there I developed the skills and character necessary to do what I’m doing today—and dream even bigger dreams.

I genuinely believe I would not have been blessed to step into what God had for me if I had despised my time serving at the center. If we’re not willing to be faithful in the little things, we won’t get to reach our dreams fully formed.

Wherever you are today, be faithful. Right. Where. You. Are. Start serving and doing whatever needs to be done—even if that’s changing the toilet paper rolls between church services. If you will, then He will move you forward at just the right time.

Lord, I will be faithful in little, believing You to give me much.
