Healing Light
Healing Light
“I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.”
John 12:46
Like me, you probably spent years covering up your emotional wounds. Mine were mostly rooted in shame, and I worked hard to hide them. When I began the journey to be free, exposing them was the last thing I wanted to do. Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable is the last thing any of us want to do. We would rather stay put in the dark than risk opening ourselves to things that might cause us to feel even greater shame—or any kind of pain. It’s a cycle that God longs to free us from.
I have learned through years of walking out my freedom that what you don’t reveal can’t be healed. When I bring something out of the darkness and into God’s light, it no longer has power over me.
So, let’s agree to never be ashamed to admit that we need healing. God didn’t make us to stay in the dark. No, Jesus came “as a light,” so we can be cleansed by His healing power. Choose to step into His light, and let His light dispel all the darkness and empower your freedom.
Lord God and my Great Physician, please grant me courage to reveal—to bring into Your light—what needs to be healed. I don’t want to stay hidden any longer!
