Face Your Giants

Face Your Giants

The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.

Exodus 15:2

What are the giants in your life? Sin you haven’t forgiven yourself for? Memories you can’t shake? Shame because of what you’ve done or because of what was done to you? As scary as it sounds, facing those giants means both freedom and growth.

So when a giant comes crashing into your mind or heart, consider it an opportunity to run into the arms of God. Maybe it is an opportunity to confess, repent, and receive the gift of forgiveness—or to extend it. A giant will always be an opportunity to celebrate that you are loved inexhaustibly by your heavenly Father.

Then, standing strong on the truth of God’s love, face the giant. Rely on the Holy Spirit to be your Defender. Find strength in Him. Speak to yourself words of truth about God’s great love for you. Be confident that He can and will bring good things even out of your challenges and pain. God will complete His perfect work in you (Philippians 1:6).

He wants you to be free from those giants, and He will strengthen you in the process!

Lord, I want to be free from my giants, and I know I need Your help when I face them. Thank You for the courage, wisdom, strength, and deliverance You provide.
