Vanquish Your Enemy

“No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.”

Isaiah 54:17

Perhaps you’ve never had an actual weapon wielded against you. Maybe you’re blessed to have never known a disastrous false accusation. But let me tell you why this verse is still relevant to you: You have an Enemy who is alive and well and busy and effective in the twenty-first century. He will never hesitate to launch an attack against you. But God is on your side, and nothing can hinder His plan for you as long as you do not give up.

Your battle is spiritual (Ephesians 6:12). Maybe you’re feeling under attack even now and are wondering how you will manage. But take heart. You will never know what you’re capable of in God’s strength if you run away from trials and avoid obstacles. Pushing ahead and fighting the battle despite the wavering of your faith will actually build your faith and dependence on God.

So place your trust in Him, and know that God is with you and that He is at work in you. His strength will see you through.

Lord, thank You that You fight with me and for me every single day. Show me where my battles are, and how to fight back!
