Makeover Takeover: Concealers
Makeover Takeover: Concealers
Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.
Psalm 51:1-2
Concealers come in all shapes and sizes, and unlike foundation, I really enjoy wearing concealer because it hides more of my imperfections. Also unlike foundation, which is created for overall coverage, a concealer will cover the spots we don’t like, hide our blemishes, and diminish the dark circles under our eyes or other signs of fatigue, giving us a refreshed look.
I love the way the right concealer seems to erase those pesky spots and imperfections that I have memorized on my face. They really bug me. However, after I apply concealer, it’s as if they don’t exist. They certainly lose their power to frustrate me and detract from my best look, but the imperfections are back the next day.
When we look in the mirror, let’s thank God that He is not only our Foundation but our Concealer, too, covering our sin. His Holy Spirit continues the beautification work day by day by focusing on the stubborn spots in our hearts and minds. How’s that for a makeover takeover?
Psalm 51:1-2 says that God blots out the stain of our sin. He erases it completely. Isn’t that wonderful? The Lord doesn’t just cover up our imperfections as our Concealer. He keeps us pure, spotless, and radiant as we live in love and obedience before God.
Memorize Psalm 51:1-2: “Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.” Let’s thank God as we apply concealer today that our sin was blotted out permanently when Jesus died on the cross for all our sin spots.
