I’m In!
I’m In!
Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:31-32
I’m in, Lord, I’m in, I’m in! I believe You are talking to me. I want to remain faithful to Your teaching and, more important, faithful to You!
No half-pint living for me! I want to be a gallon jug of sweet tea, filled to overflowing, that is fresh every day and perpetually full so it can be continually poured out to others. I would call that kind of living about as abundant as it can be!
To experience this abundance requires that we grow to be faithful, but what does being faithful look like? Faithful is an adjective, a part of speech that describes another word. A faithful person is one who is reliable, dependable, firm, sure, unswerving, conscientious, and steadfast—all qualities that describe Jesus. I love being around God’s faithful people, don’t you? They look like Christ, and He is beautifully apparent in those who are faithfully His.
Living in complete faithfulness is a choice. Choosing God’s way over our own requires multiple decisions every day, but they are the best decisions you and I can make!
The Holy Spirit inside of us is the One who gives us this desire to remain completely faithful. The only way you and I can stay true to Christ is to stay attached to Him, our faithful Vine, as He pours Himself into us. He is 100 percent dependable, firm, sure, unswerving, conscientious, and steadfast. When we let Him have His way in us, we will grow in faithfulness.
Consider for a few moments what your life—and this whole world, for that matter—would be like if God were less than 100 percent faithful. Thank Him that because He is all in, through Him we can be all in too!
