Bolder As I Got Balder

Bolder as I Got Balder

Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold.

2 Corinthians 3:12

Who would have thought that boldness would come with baldness? Certainly not I!

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I thought I would want to stay inside, hide, and keep my head under the covers. I couldn’t imagine becoming a member of “The Bald and the Breastless.” I thought I would be afraid to come out and go about the days God had ordained just for me.

Only because of His sweet grace in my life was I able to push those covers back and get out of bed looking the way I did! It was—and still is—so comforting to know that God is personal and knows the number of hairs on my head (as well as the number of hairs that were no longer on my head). Although those specific dreaded days are past, I am still comforted to know that no matter what deformities I have, inside or out, my God-given femininity does not change. Yours doesn’t either!

To be able to face days with big physical strikes against our appearance takes boldness and courage only He can give. We do not have that strength on our own. In Jesus Christ lies all our hope to smile at the future in the midst of life-altering changes. He should be our reason to get out of bed every morning, regardless of the way we look and feel, with or without hair, no matter if we are a bed head, redhead, or a wet head.

When we have Him, we have everything to offer the people He places in our lives. We can boldly live the hope within us! Thank You, Lord.

Find whatever cute accessory makes you feel like your boldest outward self (I sometimes pin on a fun pink flower!) and go out and live your inward Hope.
