.. . And He Let Us Come!
. . . and He Let Us Come!
Anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:15
Whoa! You might be thinking, Kim, that is not a very sweet verse.
You’re right. It isn’t sweet news for those who reject the Lord. But God’s sweet and loving invitation is offered to everyone. He wants all of our names to be there in the Book of Life.
Yesterday I wrote about celebrating God’s faithfulness on the tenth anniversary of Sweet Monday, Women’s Socials on a Shoestring . . . Tied to a Generous God. At that party, we raised our teacups to Him and broke a world record at the same time. To comply with Guinness rules, we had to get a signature from every person who attended. It was amazing how many people shared that they were coming to write down their name and be counted. It was a wonderful opportunity to see our community celebrate together the cause of Christ.
As much as we enjoyed all the laughter and fun, we were challenged to share the Good News of Christ that day. That was why we were there. It was far more important for everyone’s name to be in God’s Book of Life than in a world record book.
“Lord, we all count to You. You know the exact number of people who are in the world right now because You created each one of us. There is no one like You! Thank You for loving us and letting us come to You and be counted, now and for eternity.”
Spend a few fun minutes considering what record you would like to set or break. Then think about a few of the records the Lord has set (i.e., created the universe in six days, rose from the grave, works countless miracles every day).
