Meditation Moment: Ephesians 1

Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. Ephesians 1:4

Ephesians is one of my favorite books of the Bible. Written by Paul, it outlines who we are and what God wants us to be. In the verse above, we learn that God “chose us.” I think Paul wrote this so we could be reminded that our salvation depends totally on God. Another thing I love about this verse is when he chose us: before he made the world. Whoa! Did that just blow your mind? Before he even made this world he was thinking about Y-O-U!

Now that I’ve helped you consider the truth in this Bible verse, why don’t you give meditation another try? If you haven’t found meditating on God’s Word to be very easy, don’t stop trying. Everyone meditates a little differently, and you’ll find your groove. Stop, pray, and wait. When God gives you a picture, idea, thought, or story write it down so you will remember.
