God’s Eyes

God’s Eyes

Bible Blast: Read Proverbs 15:1-3

The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

2 Chronicles 16:9

Brenda stared up at the rock wall towering in front of her. Could she really climb that? Her friends had invited her to go rock climbing, and she was kind of nervous about it. In spite of her fear, she put on all the proper equipment, grabbed onto the rope, and started climbing.

When Brenda stopped on a ledge to take a breath during the climb, the rope somehow snapped against her face, knocking the contact lens out of her eye. There she was, hanging by a rope and harness on the face of a giant rock with one good eye and one blurry eye. It was not an ideal situation.

Brenda looked all over the rock in front of her for that little clear disk, but she couldn’t find it. When she reached the top of the climb, her friend inspected her clothes, looking for the contact lens, with no success.

As Brenda waited for everyone else to reach the top, she looked out over the tops of the mountains and thought about today’s focus verse: “The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him,” and she prayed, “Lord, you know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me.”

Eventually, everyone made it to the top. Then they all hiked down the trail to the bottom of the rock. When they got there, they met another group of climbers. You can imagine Brenda’s surprise when one of them shouted, “Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?” Can you guess how he found Brenda’s contact lens? He saw an ant scurrying across the rock carrying the lens on its back!

Brenda was right to trust that God sees everything. Instead of freaking out, she chose to trust God and ask him for help. God’s eyes really do see absolutely everything in every part of the world. He even sees all the things no humans see.

God loves you very much, and he cares about the things you might think are “little.”

Girl Gab: Is there something you’ve lost that you just can’t seem to find? Ask God to show you where it is or to help you find it. He knows exactly where it is.
