Bible Blast: Read Psalm 19:9-11

How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.

Psalm 119:103

The camp cook shook his head in disbelief. “I don’t get it. I just don’t get it!”

“What don’t you get?” one of the other cafeteria workers asked.

“I don’t understand how every time I go to bake cookies for the campers, the frozen cookie dough container seems to be emptier and emptier. How can that happen?”

Through a little research and some secret detective work, the camp chefs discovered that campers were sneaking into the kitchen, opening the freezer, and stealing frozen cookie dough for a snack!

One night, the cook finally had had enough. He said, “If they want cookie dough, let’s give it to them.” They took balls of the dough and stuck them on the ends of popsicle sticks. When they passed them out to the campers, everyone went wild. It was just what they wanted, and they didn’t even have to sneak around to get it!

My friend Melissa, who works at a Christian camp, told me about that true mystery. Cookie dough is amazing stuff, isn’t it? It feels so good in your mouth as it slowly dissolves into perfect sweetness. Yum!

God’s words are sweet too! Does that sound weird to you? Every word God speaks is true. God’s words will never hurt you. The more you read and study his words, the more you will begin to want them, just like a fabulous sweet treat.
