Confusion-b-gone!

Confusion-B-Gone!

Bible Blast: Read Proverbs 3:5-6

God is not a God of disorder but of peace, as in all the meetings of God’s holy people. 1 Corinthians 14:33

The Pentagon is a building in Arlington County, Virginia, that holds all the offices for the people who work to defend our country—and it’s gigantic.

The Pentagon sits on two hundred acres of land and has sixteen parking lots, which hold about 8,770 cars. It has more than 4,000 clocks, 691 water fountains, and 284 bathrooms. One of the really interesting factoids about the Pentagon is that it has seventeen-and-a-half miles of hallways! In spite of that, it only takes seven minutes for a person to walk from one point to any other point in the building!

I could see myself getting lost in a building like that, especially if I had to figure out where the seventeen miles of hallways led! Maybe I could leave a trail of breadcrumbs behind me so I could find my way out again. Big buildings like the Pentagon can be really confusing places to hang out, unless they have great signs and guides to help you find your way.

Like 1 Corinthians 14:33 says, God isn’t the one who creates confusion. If a situation becomes crazy, you can know something isn’t right. God clears up confusion if we let him.

Sometimes our lives feel twisted, whirly, and loopy when things happen that we don’t understand, especially things like divorce, death, sickness, and fighting. Those things feel so confusing, don’t they? But God wants you to trust in him with all of your heart so he can make those paths straight.

He may not tell you right away exactly why it’s happening, but he can give you peace that he still has you in his hands and that he’s not going to let go. He can give you trustworthy people to talk to and pray with when you’re confused.

The Bible is a great tool for chasing away confusing thoughts, too. Even if you read something that doesn’t seem to have anything to do with what you’re going through, its truth can bring peace. If you find yourself overwhelmed by miles and miles of hallways, God is the perfect Guide to help you find your way.

Girl Gab: What’s the biggest building you and your mom have ever been to? Was it easy to find your way around or difficult? Tell God that you are choosing to trust him during confusing times.
