Bucket O’ Thoughts
Bucket o’ Thoughts
Bible Blast: Read Psalm 139:23-24
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. Psalm 139:2
I love my mom. I’m so blessed to have her live in the same town I live in so I can see her whenever I want. She’s so wise and full of faith. This morning my mom said the coolest thing to me.
I was telling her that I was feeling kind of yucky and overwhelmed by everyday pressures. My feelings were making me unsure of what to do, say, or even think. Mom arranged to have lunch with me the next day, and then she said, “Bring a bucket of thoughts. We’ll empty it out.”
Isn’t that just what a mom does? My whole life long, Mom has been the best listener. There are many, many times that I have picked up my “bucket of thoughts” and gone to empty it out with my mom.
Did you know that God knows all your thoughts? He loves knowing them and helping you think through them too. If your mom isn’t around, you can just talk to God. But I’m so glad he’s given you your mom, too!
Do you take your bucket of thoughts to your mom? I think sometimes just hearing myself say my thoughts out loud can be a huge help. It helps me see things more truthfully. Whether my mom gives advice, listens silently, or just hugs me, I always feel better when my thought bucket is empty.
