Working Hard

Working Hard

Some of my friends just hang out and never do homework or school activities. They’re just lazy, but sometimes I’d like to join them. What’s so bad about that?

God’s Response

Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich. Proverbs 10:4

Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper. Proverbs 13:4

Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Romans 12:11

There is a difference between rest and laziness. The Bible clearly says that laziness is a sin, while rest is a reward for hard work. Someday you will be asked to give an account for how you spent your time on earth. Your responsibility now is to work hard and do well in school, which is presently your full-time job. When you’ve finished your work and done a good job, reward yourself with some needed rest. The day will come when you will have to provide for yourself. Don’t get into the habit of laziness—it will hurt you for the rest of your life.

This Is Promising

Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave. Proverbs 12:24
