How can I pray when I’m in trouble?

God’s Response

When I was in deep trouble, I searched for the Lord. All night long I prayed, with hands lifted toward heaven, but my soul was not comforted. Psalm 77:2

I recall all you have done, O LORD; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works. O God, your ways are holy. Is there any god as mighty as you? You are the God of great wonders! Psalm 77:11-14

When you’re in trouble, pray. Pray when you can’t sleep at night, as the psalmist did. Pray with intensity. As you ask for God’s help, remember the things he has done for you, the answers to prayer he has given in the past, and the fact that he is the almighty God of miracles. Know that he has helped you and other people of faith before and he will surely help you again.
