Can I pray about my tests and my grades? Will God help me do well?

God’s Response

I stationed the people to stand guard by families, armed with swords, spears, and bows. Then as I looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of the people and said to them, “Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes!” Nehemiah 4:13-14

We prayed to our God and guarded the city day and night to protect ourselves. Nehemiah 4:9

You can certainly pray about a test before you take it. However, if you did not study for it, God will not miraculously give you the answers. If you studied hard, you can ask God to give you a clear and peaceful mind so that you can remember what you learned. Nehemiah prayed for protection and then armed the people. Pray to do well on the test and study hard. Usually God won’t do for us what we can do for ourselves. When we do our part, he enjoys doing his part, which is above and beyond what we could ever do by ourselves.

This Is Promising

The LORD will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. Deuteronomy 28:12
