Does God care about my grades?

God’s Response

Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper. Proverbs 13:4

Try to please [your earthly masters] all the time, not just when they are watching you. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart. Ephesians 6:6

Suppose you work in a coffee shop. You’re pretty good at it, so your boss asks you to train a new employee that we’ll call Tyler. How would you feel about Tyler if he didn’t give much effort to learning his new job? What if he just laughed when he messed up an order and made you look bad in front of your boss or a customer? You wouldn’t have much respect for Tyler. It’s the same with your grades. While you’re in school, your main job is to work hard at school. Your grades reflect how much you care about that job and how you work at it. Some kids don’t work hard and get As, while some kids work very hard and get Cs. God asks that you give your best effort, develop integrity, and do your best in the job he has given you right now.

This Is Promising

If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. Matthew 24:46
