Most of the people I work with waste a lot of time. How can I be a good employee?

Jeroboam was a very capable young man, and when Solomon saw how industrious he was, he put him in charge of the labor force. 1 Kings 11:28

If you paid someone to do a job for you, you would expect them to do it well. If you were paying them by the hour, you wouldn’t want to pay for ten hours of work if you knew they could do the job in five hours. It’s no different when someone is paying you to do a job. The Bible says, “Do to others what you would like them to do to you” (Matthew 7:12). Wasting time on the job is stealing from your employers. When you put yourself in your boss’s shoes, you can understand why he or she wants employees to arrive on time, do the job well without cutting corners, and go the extra mile. Employers appreciate dependable, honest workers. Working hard, even in your summer job, builds good habits for the future.
