What must I do to experience intimacy with God?

God’s Response

My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.” Psalm 27:8

The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. James 4:8

When you have a close friend, you do your best to stay in touch with him or her. It’s no different with God. He promises that as you draw close to him, he will draw close to you. How do you draw close to him? Read his Word daily and listen to what he says to you through it. Pray constantly. Remember that God is with you all day, every day, and talk to him about everything that comes up at school, at home, at work, and on the practice field. Share your thoughts, needs, and concerns with him. As you practice remembering his presence, you’ll begin to gain the intimacy you desire.
