Intimacy With God

Intimacy with God

The Bible talks about intimacy with God. What does that mean?

God’s Response

“When that day comes,” says the LORD, “you will call me ‘my husband’ instead of ‘my master.’ . . . I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion.” Hosea 2:16, 19

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children. 1 John 3:1

There is no image that can completely express the kind of relationship God wants to have with you. The Bible uses images of the love between husband and wife or father and child to give us some glimpse of it. God already knows your heart, your thoughts, your motives, your dreams, and he wants to make you the best you can be. When you accept that and draw nearer to him, you will begin to know him intimately, and you will experience a love relationship that nothing else can compare to.

This Is Promising

Those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken! Jeremiah 9:24
