Say Anything

Say Anything

Do I have to pray in a certain way, with certain words?

God’s Response

When I heard this, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted, and prayed to the God of heaven. Nehemiah 1:4

The king asked, “Well, how can I help you?”With a prayer to the God of heaven, I replied. Nehemiah 2:4-5

We prayed to our God and guarded the city day and night to protect ourselves. Nehemiah 4:9

Prayer can happen in many ways with many kinds of words. Nehemiah had times of extended prayer to God, sometimes with fasting. He also shot quick prayers to heaven when he needed God’s immediate help. He prayed for protection and strength. In short, he communicated with God, and there are many ways to communicate. Use them all as needed. Say what you need to say to God in words or thoughts. The Bible says that “the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words” (Romans 8:26). The point is to use many different ways to communicate with God so that you stay closely in touch and express your real thoughts and feelings to him.

This Is Promising

Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Psalm 116:2
