Is Satan real?

God’s Response

This great dragon—the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world—was thrown down to the earth with all his angels. Revelation 12:9

Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. Matthew 4:1

Humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

Satan and his demons are fighting even now for your soul. Satan, also called the devil, is a fallen angel who rebelled against God and was thrown out of heaven. Angels who were loyal to Satan were also thrown out; they are called demons. Satan wants to defeat God and rule the world. God allows him to wield a lot of power over the earth for now, because God will not force people to love him. You must choose between good and evil, between God and Satan. Until you decide whom to follow, Satan will do everything in his power to keep you from following God. After you choose to follow God, Satan will try to sabotage your walk with God. Be aware of this battle for your soul, and determine to stand strong against the evil one. God’s great power can always defeat Satan.
