Right From Wrong

Right and wrong are not always as clear as black and white. How can I be sure of the right thing to do?

God’s Response

Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. 1 Kings 3:9

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2

You will constantly be faced with making choices between right and wrong. Some choices will be very clear, and then it’s just a matter of being strong enough to do what is right. At other times, the choices may not be as clear. That’s when you need to depend on God’s wisdom in order to know the right choice. The wrong things in life often seem attractive to the human heart and mind, and that makes us vulnerable. Weigh your choices, using God’s Word as the standard of truth. Does what you are considering contradict the truths taught in the Bible? If so, it is always wrong. If you’re not sure, it is also wise to seek advice from godly people who closely follow the Lord.

Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong. Hebrews 5:14
