Should I pray for my country?

God’s Response

Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 1 Timothy 2:2

May you hear the humble and earnest requests from me and your people Israel when we pray toward this place. Yes, hear us from heaven where you live, and when you hear, forgive. 1 Kings 8:30

When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily. Proverbs 28:2

Pray that your nation will be protected by God’s mighty hand. Pray that your leaders will be humble and wise, able to discern right from wrong, and to champion the needy and helpless. A nation that endorses and condones immorality is subject to judgment and will eventually collapse from the inside. A nation that collectively worships the one true God will stand firm. You may not agree with all your government does, but that doesn’t excuse you from praying for it.

This Is Promising

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
