Freedom

Freedom

What does it mean to be free in Christ?

God’s Response

Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. Galatians 5:1

The Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. . . . And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18

The Bible says that when you believe in Jesus Christ, you become free. This means freedom from all the things in life that prevent you from being happy—guilt and giving in to sin, fear, and addictions. When you are free of those things, you will be free to have a fulfilling life following Jesus, to let go of self and serve God, to live by the truth of God’s Word, and to care about others in the way that you really want to.

This Is Promising

You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. . . . So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. John 8:32, 36
