Why does God show me mercy?

God’s Response

He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:5

Await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love. Jude 1:21

You, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15

You really mess up big at your job and you know your boss is going to be furious. But when he finds out, he says, “That’s okay; everyone makes mistakes. I know you’re trying hard and will do better next time.” He gives you a big break; in other words, he shows you mercy, and that’s one of the best feelings in the world. The world can be a bad enough place sometimes, but without mercy it would be unbearable. God gives us mercy every day when we sin in some way and mess up before him. But if we’re sorry, he forgives us and shows us mercy 24–7, 365 days a year. God is the only boss who is that patient! Receive his mercy with a grateful heart.

This Is Promising

Answer my prayers, O LORD, for your unfailing love is wonderful. Take care of me, for your mercy is so plentiful. Psalm 69:16
