A quick coat of paint on a rusty car will help sell it, but before long the rust will creep to the surface and the new owner will realize that he’s made a hasty choice that he will regret. Countless men and women have chosen a mate based solely on good looks and wound up bitterly disappointed when bad character surfaced. Train yourself to look first at the inside of a person for strong character and sincere faith in Christ. Check for the selfless qualities and actions of a real friend, for good relationships begin as good friendships. Look at the heart first, and the rest will take care of itself.
