Is it a sin to doubt God?

God’s Response

One of the disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. They told him, “We have seen the Lord!”But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. John 20:24-26

Thomas doubted, but perhaps we shouldn’t be so hard on him. After all, he was being asked to believe that someone rose from the dead! He doubted, but he was still loyal to Jesus and stayed with the disciples. He could have dismissed them all as quacks and left the group forever. Doubt can lead to questions. If the questions get answers that we believed, then doubt has led to belief. It’s not a sin to doubt, but don’t be content to stay there. Look for answers and you’ll find them.
