Broken Hearts

Broken Hearts

I’ve been hurt deeply. How do I recover from a broken heart?

God’s Response

Their insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair. If only one person would show some pity; if only one would turn and comfort me. . . . For the LORD hears the cries of the needy; he does not despise his imprisoned people. Psalm 69:20, 33

He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. Psalm 147:3

God has experienced brokenness and he understands it. No matter how strong you think you must be, a broken heart still hurts to the core. Whether you were hurt by a parent, a friend, a boyfriend, or a girlfriend, God grieves with you when you hurt and he is ready to provide comfort. A broken heart often takes a while to heal. It is comforting to know that even though we have broken God’s heart repeatedly, he still loves us and wants to comfort us in our brokenness.

This Is Promising
