If You Say So

If You Say So

Why is it best to obey God?

God’s Response

When [Jesus] had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.”“Master,” Simon replied, “we worked hard all last night and didn’t catch a thing. But if you say so, I’ll let the nets down again.” And this time their nets were so full of fish they began to tear! Luke 5:4-6

It didn’t make any sense. Jesus was a preacher, not a fisherman. Simon Peter and the other fishermen had fished all night and caught nothing. Then along came Jesus, telling them to try again. Peter knew the fish weren’t biting, but something about Jesus’ instruction made Peter row back out onto the lake. He was glad he did! The Bible records many things that Jesus tells us to do. If we obey these instructions, we will go through life enjoying God’s fullest blessings.

This Is Promising

Don’t be afraid! From now on you’ll be fishing for people! Luke 5:10
