Houses On Sand

Houses on Sand

What does the Bible say about foolishness?

God’s Response

Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions. Proverbs 18:2

Anyone who hears my teaching and ignores it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash. Matthew 7:26-27

Fools are people who ignore God. They are know-it-alls who spout ignorance and could care less about truth. They waste their time, talents, energy, and money on themselves and on accumulating stuff. They don’t think about the future—in this life or the next. The Bible compares their lives to building a house on sand; they have no foundation to secure them when the hurricanes of hard times hit. Fools always seem to be in trouble because their lifestyles lead them there. The only sure protection against foolishness is to fear and follow God.

This Is Promising

Those who bring trouble on their families inherit the wind. The fool will be a servant to the wise. Proverbs 11:29
