Finding Wisdom

Finding Wisdom

How can I become wise?

God’s Response

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. James 1:5

Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. Proverbs 1:23

There is an important difference between wisdom and knowledge. All of your education, while important, will not guarantee you wisdom. You may gain a lot of knowledge that will be useful for life and for your future career. However, along with all your knowledge, you need wisdom, which is the proper application of your knowledge. This will give your life meaning and purpose and keep you from making foolish mistakes. If you want to be wise, read and study God’s Word. Ask God for wisdom and he will gladly give it to you. Then your choices will be wise because they will include God’s perspective. Your education costs you a lot of money, but God’s wisdom is free for the asking.

This Is Promising

I, Wisdom, live together with good judgment. I know where to discover knowledge and discernment. . . . Those who search will surely find me. Proverbs 8:12, 17
