Hopelessness

Hopelessness

What can I do when things seem hopeless?

God’s Response

Hannah was in deep anguish, crying bitterly as she prayed to the LORD. . . . “I have been praying out of great anguish and sorrow.”“In that case,” Eli said, “go in peace! May the God of Israel grant the request you have asked of him.”“Oh, thank you, sir!” she exclaimed. Then she went back and began to eat again, and she was no longer sad. 1 Samuel 1:10, 16-18

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Hannah’s situation seemed hopeless, so she took it directly to the Lord. After she prayed, she left her burden there, went home, ate, and no longer felt sad. When things seem hopeless, go to God and let him have the burden. He wants you to give your burdens to him so he can show you how he will help you carry them.

This Is Promising

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! Psalm 42:11
