Good Leaders

Good Leaders

Can I be a good leader?

God’s Response

King Rehoboam discussed the matter with the older men who had counseled his father, Solomon. “What is your advice?” he asked. “How should I answer these people?”The older counselors replied, “If you are willing to be a servant to these people today and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your loyal subjects.”But Rehoboam rejected the advice of the older men and instead asked the opinion of the young men who had grown up with him and were now his advisers. 1 Kings 12:6-8

The mark of a good leader is that you are a good listener, and that you listen to the right people. King Rehoboam had inherited a mighty kingdom from his father; but he destroyed it by listening to the wrong people and following their advice. As you move forward in life, you will certainly find yourself in some kind of leadership role. Seek out godly people who are older and wiser than you, who want to serve others and don’t care about personal gain. Ask God for advice as well. Then you know you will be doing the right things.

This Is Promising

Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others. Proverbs 12:15
