What are the dangers of being too independent?

God’s Response

I solemnly warned your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, “Obey me!” I have repeated this warning over and over to this day, but your ancestors did not listen or even pay attention. Instead, they stubbornly followed their own evil desires. And because they refused to obey, I brought upon them all the curses described in this covenant. Jeremiah 11:7-8

Many students can’t wait to become adults so they can finally make their own choices and not have to ask their parents for permission to do things. Unfortunately, many use their independence to act in ways that they know their parents would disapprove of, ways that can lead to devastating consequences. As a young adult, don’t use your independence to be defiant; instead, show that you are worthy of the title by choosing wisely and honoring God in your choices.
