First Things First
How do I set priorities?
God’s Response
This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you! Now go up into the hills, bring down timber, and rebuild my house. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says the LORD. You hoped for rich harvests, but they were poor. And when you brought your harvest home, I blew it away. Why? Because my house lies in ruins, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, while all of you are busy building your own fine houses. Haggai 1:7-9
Sometimes problems in your life just happen; they’re not your fault. But the Bible is absolutely clear that sometimes your problems are your fault and have come because you’ve got your priorities wrong. Over and over God says that he wants what is best for you. He wants to pour his blessings on you—not always with material things, but with joy, peace, fulfillment, satisfaction, and the ability to have a big impact for his Kingdom. He won’t reward you if you neglect him, as the nation of Judah did. When you put God first, he rewards your loyalty to him in ways you never dreamed possible. Keep God at the top of your list and you will experience much more of God’s blessing.
This Is Promising
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33
