Everyone I know cheats—some more than others—in order to get decent grades. Why is it so important to be honest?

Better to have little, with godliness, than to be rich and dishonest. Proverbs 16:8

Honesty creates trust, and trust is the basis of all relationships. If you can’t trust someone, you won’t want to be a close friend. If people can’t trust you, they won’t ask you to be their friend. God wants you to be completely honest in your life because that is the only way to have a good reputation and be a good example of Christian living. When you are honest in all details, you experience the distinct advantages of having a clear conscience, earning the trust and respect of others, as well as God’s blessing. You can build a good reputation by consistent, honest behavior, and you can start today.
